The devil is in the detail

A 22 year old lady presents to the neuro clinic with a 12 month history of  intermittent “collapse”.

Her story – no warning, no recollection, feels awful afterwards

Attacks happening every day.

She had been told she shakes and twitches during the attack.

She had been investigated with a normal MRI and EEG in the past.

She attended clinic alone.

Questions?

  1. what additional information do you need and where can you get it?
  2. what are the 3 important components of a blackout history?
  3. would you do any tests?
