Cases for finals

Right.

Here are some cases to compliment the Neurology lecture series down in Teesside.

There are 12 cases in total, each with its own flavour. Taken together, they cover many of the conditions that are on the curriculum.

Try to view the history in isolation and jot down your thoughts before you go on to examination. Think about where in the nervous system the problem might be (cortex, brainstem, spinal cord, peripheral nerve etc) and what sort of processes might be going on (vascular, infectious, inflammatory, degenerative etc).

Try, also, to summarise the case in one or two sentences. Think “if I had to tweet this history, what would I write?”

Do the same for the examination features and then plot your plan of attack as far as investigations are concerned.

Hope they help.

  1. Thanks Dr Archibald!

Very useful for finals revision. Will you be posting a run through of these cases on your website?
